The class focuses on phonics, writing, and early mathematics. Great Start uses the nationally recognized Zoo-Phonics reading program, which is a method developed to make children strong readers and spellers. 

Zoo Phonics uses a “phono” (hearing), “oral” (speaking), “visual” (seeing), “kinesthetic” (moving), and tactile (touching) —whole brain approach. It also focuses on autonomy, the skills of listening and following instructions and provides the format for the appropriate behavior that will be expected of them in Kindergarten.

Quick Facts:

• The Kindergarten Prep class starts at 9:00am and ends at 12:00pm. 

• Before and after your child's 9:00am - 12:00pm class program they will play at learning centers using manipulatives, imagination games, P.E., and playground time.

​

• Students do not nap in the Kindergarten Prep class. 

• Lunch time is 11:30am to 12:00pm. You must bring your own lunch.

• Every Wednesday is Pizza day. You may purchase pizza for $2 cash.

• Great Start provides two healthy snacks.
